Valerie’s technology career began in 1995 when she was recruited by Bell Atlantic to run their video dial tone project in Toms River, NJ. This project was the forerunner of FiOS services delivery fiber to the door. After several years with Verizon, Valerie moved to AT&T where she ran Global Business Development for the East Coast. In 2001, she established her own telecom consulting company, TelcoWorks. Her company has evolved from a focus on Internet connectivity and telecom, to a trusted business advisor tasked with assisting firms develop their Digital Transformation Roadmap. Valerie’s firm uses digital technologies to drive innovation, leverage new market opportunity, improve business efficiencies and mitigate risk.
We asked Valerie for her short answers to the following questions:
What problem are you trying to solve? Embracing digitial technologies to drive innovation, and to not be intimidated by the cloud and Artificial Intelligence.
What advice would you give to someone starting their career today? Don’t fake it, become an expert in your field.
What is your favorite thing to do in the suburban Philadelphia area? I take floral design classes at Longwood Gardens. I am an NGC accredited Flower Show Judge and competitive floral designer.
